History

Deep in the heart of the Lacerta Winery lays the Dorobantu Manor. This house came to be in the year 1901 and still stands strong to this day. The manor, having served for over a century, got remodeled in 2005 to fit the original drawings. This grand manor features Neo-Romanian architectural styles which are inviting to guests. Once in the estate, guests can view sprawling hills covered with vineyards as far as the eye can see.

Wines

Romanian Wineries are known for their excellent wines, and this winery is not an exception. With six red wine varieties as well as six white wine varieties available, you will get spoilt for choice. International varieties such as Pinot Noir, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon are available. The winery also boasts of inland varieties such as Feteasca Alba. In addition to these wines, you also get to sample some select wines exclusive to the manor.

The Lacerta Winery Pinot Noir is a delicate wine, with the influence of fresh red forest berries, and a hint of spice. Furthermore, the oak aging process of the wine for at least a year adds a nuttiness, with vanilla, coffee, and green tea flavors. This is a gorgeous wine with any meal or on its own.

Tastings are possible upon prior reservations. During the tasting, you get to sample different wines as an expert takes you through the production process. You can also tour the cellars and the vine estate upon request.

Wines, Tastings, And Events

Liliac’s most notable wine is the Feteasca Alba which features scents of ripe pear and wildflowers. You can easily pair this wine with spiced white meat, and it has an alcohol volume of 13%. Guests are welcome to tour the winery upon reservations.

While at Liliac, get to go through the wine selection as you take a journey through the production process. You also get to tour the vineyard where you get to enjoy breathtaking views of the rolling hills around the winery. You can also host parties at the winery upon request.

Liliac’s “Fetească Albă 2016” is a young wine, with the beautiful aroma of pear and wildflowers. With a citrus hint and gorgeous grapefruit finish, the wine has an excellent balance of sweetness and acidity. It is a must try!

Avincis Winery

This winery, having come about in 1927, has undoubtedly come a long way. It started out with the building of a Neo-Romanian style manor surrounded by vineyards. Over time, the tradition passed on from one generation to the next. At present, this estate features a mansion, a winery, vineyards sprawled over forty hectares as well as forest land. Its success is a story of passion, hard work, and commitment to excellence!

Wines

This unique winery produces red wines, white wines and rose wines. From blends to Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and more just compose their reds. The whites they offer are Pinos Gris, Muscat, Sauvignon Blanc, and others.
