Turkey Roll-Ups Recipe

Turkey Roll-Ups are a delicious, trendy and fun appetizer to serve to your guests at your next function; or with your family if you want to get your kids involved.

Turkey Roll-Ups: Fun For The Whole Family

Simple and low maintenance, easy and quick to make. This recipe is perfect and a hit with kids and adults alike. For a laid back adult get-together, or night with your girlfriends; serve with a crisp Chardonnay such as an Oyster Bay 2015, or a Heron Hill Classic Chardonnay Unoaked. While the latter is fruitier, both has subtle acidity which cut across the richness of the cream cheese, and pair perfectly with the turkey.

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) package fat-free cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise
    1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 10 (6 inch) flour tortillas, warmed
  • 1/4 teaspoon dill weed
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
  • 10 (1 ounce) slices cooked deli turkey breast
  • Shredded lettuce

Preparations

In a small mixing bowl, combine the first six ingredients; beat until smooth.
Spread the mix over the tortillas. Layer the thinly sliced onion, turkey and lettuce.
Roll up tightly jelly-roll style.
Serve immediately with Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc.

If you prefer sliced chicken breast, you can substitute instead of turkey. However, turkey is leaner than chicken, and holds a stronger texture for this particular recipe. Add vegetables if you desire, thinly sliced cucumber for texture, for example. Furthermore, you can experiment with the seasonings and ingredients. Use thinly sliced tomato, mozzarella, and basil to make a caprese roll-up!
